Welcome to Yarn and Stitchery Alcove's yarn blogging site

We're interested in hearing what you have to say about the latest yarns or patterns you have been using. It's always exciting, and sometimes very challenging, to find new and different colors to use.

Over the last three years, Yarn and Stitchery Alcove has grown considerably, relying on you, the customer, to give honest feedback in the yarns that you'd like to see us carry. We have done our best, and will continue to do so, to carry those yarn brands and colors at very reasonable prices! Stop by www.yarnandstitcheryalcove.com for high quality yarns at affordable pricing.

What's New With a View

"Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it."

April did indeed bring many new knit and crochet
learning books and
yarn brands to
Yarn and Stitchery Alcove. com. We're very excited
about
incorporating these fresh and vibrant shades that
were requested by you! Our favorite is the TLC
Cotton Plus brand.
This yarn glides very easily around any crochet hook
size that
I've used, and has never split or fuzzed up like many yarns seem
to do after awhile. This yarn and been around for a long time
and will
always be one of my favorites because of how easy it is
to use.

You just have to check it out for yourself. Our Web site is really
growing
and it's because of wonderful feedback from you! Please
feel free to check
back regularly, as we are always adding new
and exciting brands and shades!

Check out the many wonderful books and
learning DVD kits we have ready to ship
and in stock. All are at great
prices that
are just right. As always, we are open to
any suggestions or requests of different
books or yarns
so if you don't see it here,
then please contact us in one of the ways
listed below:

Making it easier to find your way

Often, knitters and crocheters get frustrated because they've lost track of that little thread the patterns tell you to use to "mark the end of the row", etc. Having crocheted for over 30 years now, I can still relate to new beginners trying to tackle the art of learning just where the rows end and the next ones need to begin, or how to preserve and keep your patterns in tact to use again.

First of all, I'd like to add that it shouldn't be that hard. I believe as we go along, we tend to forget the small things that can make all of the difference in whether the baby booties you are creating now has 50 sts or 48 and looks lopsided.

Yarn and Stitchery Alcove now has a Tips and Hints section, which our passion is for you as the customer, but also a "fellow knitter or crocheter" to share these great hints of simple tracking tips you and have used throughout the years with others so they can avoid the agony you had to go through to learn. Sharing is a wonderful thing, especially in knowing the frustration of once being "new" and wondering these same things.
